Jpop Ringtones

Types of Ringtones

Monophonic Ringtones
Those that you would hear from older phones like Nokia 3315... etc. Sounds like CPU speakers. They have only one trace. Or layer as you call it. The ringtone will just play the tune without drums or anything. You can compose them in a built-in composer in the phone. Some composers are smart and can simulate drums by using breaks and very short notes in the ringtones. Cool! But all that is in the past. Or not... I still can hear some monophonic ringtones ringing... The truth is, some people still do not care what type of phone they use, as long as it is usable.

Polyphonic Ringtones
Later on, polyphonic ringtones were made. They have a few tracks combined together, like drums, bass and tune. Polyphonic ringtones sound a lot better.

MP3's and MIDI's for Ringtones
Then technology gets even more advanced. Nowadays, new phones are like small computers. Complete with their own operating system. And right, you guessed it. Built in MP3 players and such. This means they can function like a computer, though limitedly. They can play MP3's and MIDIs... Right, you are ahead of me. You know it. They can use MP3 files or MIDI files as the ringtones. Since then, when someone's phone rings, you would not hear "Beep Beep" or "Ring ring". You would hear a song. Might be annoying at times, but almost everyone would like their phone to play their favorite songs when it rings.
