In this cyber age, almost everything is about telecommunications. The Internet is booming and cellphones are getting more and more popular. Even school children have cellphones. And with cellphones, there are lots of ringtones! Ringtones are categorized into a few different types...
First there is the monophonic ringtones that sound like CPU speakers. Only one ear-splitting tune. Then polyphonic ringtones start appearing, and they are more good to the ear mainly because they have drums, bass and stuff. And then when cellphones start to become small computers, they have the ability to play MIDI's and MP3's therefore, MIDI or MP3 ringtones are possible.
Jpop
Jpop stands for Japanese pop. Sometimes it can be J-Pop or J Pop or just jpop. And there are some J-rocks too. Before World War 2 ,Jpop was used to refer to Jazz music. That kind of music halted during the war. And after the war, the music got more popular and now the term Jpop is used to refer to any kind of music from Japan.
An FM radio in Japan called J-WAVE popularized the term jpop. This is to label the pop music and to differentiate them from ordinary traditional music.
